Washer Error Codes by Brand
Washing machines show an error code when a cycle can't continue safely: the water won't drain, won't fill, the door won't lock, or the load is too unbalanced to spin. Most of these have a cause you can check at home in a few minutes.

First checks for any washer code
- Note the exact code and your model number before anything else.
- Unplug the washer or switch off its breaker for 10 minutes, then try again. Many codes are one-off glitches.
- Keep a towel and a shallow pan nearby. Many fixes involve water left in the drum or drain pump.
Our washer guides cover 91 codes across 6 brands. Each one explains the code in plain English, lists safe steps in order, and says clearly when to call a professional.
