About Frigidaire washer error codes
Frigidaire is an American appliance brand owned by the Swedish Electrolux Group. Frigidaire codes are usually shown on the display panel, and some models report faults through blinking lights instead.
How to read Frigidaire washer codes
Frigidaire front-loaders use two- and three-character codes that start with E (E11, E21, E5A). The first digit tells you the area: E1 is filling, E2 draining, E3 water level, E4 the door, E5 the motor, E6 and E7 heating and temperature, E9 the control panel. Front-loaders without a digital display blink their status lights instead. Newer top-loaders use a much shorter set (E1 to E4, plus a few F codes).
For most codes the reset is the same: unplug the washer or switch off its breaker for 5 minutes, then restore power and run a short cycle. If water is near the outlet or cord, use the breaker and leave the plug alone.
Frigidaire's code charts change between model families, and a few numbers mean slightly different things on different tech sheets. The tech sheet tucked inside your washer's cabinet, or your owner's manual, settles it for your model.
Of the 17 codes on this page, 5 usually have a simple fix you can do yourself, and 10 usually need a technician. Each guide says which is which, so you don't pay for a service call you don't need, and you don't attempt a repair that isn't safe.
Before you start
- Write down your model number. It's on a sticker, usually inside the door or lid, on the frame, or on the back or side panel. Parts and some code meanings depend on it.
- Try a reset. Unplug the washer or switch off its breaker for 10 minutes. This clears many one-off glitches without tools.
- Keep a towel and a shallow pan nearby. Many fixes involve water left in the drum or drain pump.
