Amana Washer F9 E1 Error Code
Washer is taking too long to drain on Amana washers.
Water is leaving the tub too slowly. Amana points to three spots: a drain hose pushed too far into the standpipe, a clogged drain pump filter, and plugged drain holes in the rubber door seal.
Compatible models
Amana front-load washers in general. The drain pump filter step only applies to models built with one.

How to fix Amana F9 E1
Set the drain hose depth
Pull the hose out so no more than 4.5 in (11.3 cm) sits inside the standpipe or laundry tub. Deeper than that and water siphons back into the washer. Clip it into the U-shaped hose form, and keep the top of the hose within 96 in (244 cm) of the bottom of the washer.
Leave an air gap
Don't tape the hose into the standpipe. It should sit loose enough for air to get in, which stops the siphon.
Clean the drain pump filter
Not every model has one. Unplug the washer first. On models that do, the filter sits behind the bottom drawer. Put towels and a shallow pan down, let the water out, then pick out lint, coins and hair pins and screw the filter back in tight.
Clear the door seal drain holes
Fold back the rubber door seal and wipe out the small drain holes at the bottom. Lint and gunk there can hold water in the drum.
When to call a technician
Hose set right, filter clean, seal holes clear, and F9 E1 still shows: the drain pump itself may be on its way out. Book a service visit.
