About Haier washer error codes
Haier is a Chinese appliance maker that sells washers, refrigerators and air conditioners worldwide. In the US it also owns GE Appliances. Haier codes are shown on the display as short letter-and-number codes.
How to read Haier washer codes
Haier's portable washers use short codes, and the same fault can show up under more than one: the lid code may read dO, E0 or E2, and a drain fault E1 or E6, depending on the model. Look your code up by the fault, not only the exact letters.
Unplug the washer before any hands-on check, and if water has reached the outlet, switch off the breaker instead. When a code keeps coming back after the checks listed for it, Haier's next step is a service call.
Of the 5 codes on this page, 5 usually have a simple fix you can do yourself, and 0 usually need a technician. Each guide says which is which, so you don't pay for a service call you don't need, and you don't attempt a repair that isn't safe.
Before you start
- Write down your model number. It's on a sticker, usually inside the door or lid, on the frame, or on the back or side panel. Parts and some code meanings depend on it.
- Try a reset. Unplug the washer or switch off its breaker for 10 minutes. This clears many one-off glitches without tools.
- Keep a towel and a shallow pan nearby. Many fixes involve water left in the drum or drain pump.
