Frigidaire Washer E21 Error Code
Washer is draining too slowly on Frigidaire washers.
FrigidaireAll Frigidaire washer codes
Water isn't being pumped out fast enough. A kinked or clogged drain hose, a blocked house drain or standpipe, or something stuck in the drain pump is usually behind it.
Compatible models
Frigidaire front-load washers, including the FAFW4011LB and FAFW4221LB/LW and the Affinity ATF7000FE. On top-loaders like the FFTW4120SW the same problem shows as E2.
Also shown as
Newer Frigidaire top-load models show E2 when draining takes too long (about 10 minutes); they also won't drain and spin with the lid open. A separate code, EF1, points to a clogged drain pump.
Difficulty
Start with the safe checks below; a worn part may need replacing.

How to fix Frigidaire E21
Check the drain hose
Look for kinks, flat spots or clogs in the drain hose and straighten or clear them. The standpipe or laundry tub shouldn't be backed up.
Check the drain height
Top-loaders need a standpipe at least 36 in (91 cm) high. If the washer was installed or moved recently, ask the installer to check the drain setup.
Check power and the lid
Check the washer's breaker or fuse hasn't tripped. On top-loaders, close the lid and press Start/Pause to resume.
Clear the pump area
Unplug the washer first. If your manual shows a drain pump filter or access cover, put down towels and a shallow pan, let hot water cool, then open it slowly and remove lint, coins or small items.
When to call a technician
Hose and house drain clear and the washer still won't drain: the drain pump probably needs testing and replacing by a technician.
