Kenmore Washer F20 Error Code
Front-loader isn't filling on Kenmore washers.
KenmoreAll Kenmore washer codes
The HE2 control opened the fill valves but didn't see water arrive. Most of the time a supply valve is shut or partly closed, a fill hose is kinked, or in winter the lines have frozen. A failed inlet valve is the less likely cause.
Compatible models
Kenmore HE2 and HE2 Plus front-load washers.
Also shown as
On Oasis top-loaders, F30 (or LF) means a long fill, but on the HE2 F30 is a dispenser fault, so don't mix the two up. Other families: F/H on 110 front-loaders, F8 E1 on VMW top-loaders, IE on 796 models, E11 on 417 front-loaders.
Difficulty
Most people can clear this one at home with simple checks.

How to fix Kenmore F20
Open both supply valves
Turn the hot and cold faucets behind the washer fully counterclockwise. A valve that's only a quarter open can still trip this code.
Check the fill hoses
Look for kinks or flattened spots in both hoses. In an unheated garage or basement, a frozen line will block the flow until it thaws.
Restart the cycle
Unplug the washer for a minute to clear the code, plug it back in, then start a short cycle and listen for water entering.
When to call a technician
If water pressure at the faucets is good and the hoses are clear but the washer still won't take water, the water inlet valve assembly is likely bad and should be swapped by a technician or a confident DIYer.
