How to fix Kenmore F8E1
Open the faucets all the way
Both hot and cold supply faucets should be fully open, even if you mostly wash in cold.
Straighten the fill hoses
Pull the washer out and look for kinks behind it. Hot goes to hot, cold to cold.
Clean the inlet screens
Shut off both faucets and unplug the washer. Unscrew the hoses at the back and look into the inlet ports for grit or scale on the small screens; brush them clean, reconnect the hoses snugly and turn the water back on.
When to call a technician
With good water pressure and clean screens, a code that keeps returning points to the inlet valve or to the control not sensing the water level, both of which a technician should diagnose.
