How it works

The board follows the cycle program step by step, using sensor readings to decide when to fill, heat, wash and drain. When something reports out of range it stops and shows an error code.

Signs it is failing

Most codes name a part first and list the board as a less likely cause. Repair references point out that boards are often misdiagnosed, so rule out the cheap parts first.

Can you replace it yourself?

Cut power at the breaker for a minute or two to reset the board; that clears a lot of one-off codes. Bosch suggests about 10 minutes if the machine beeps with a blank display. Diagnosing and replacing a board belongs with a tech. Never open a control board or try to repair it.

Always unplug the dishwasher or switch off its breaker before opening any panel, and turn off water or gas where relevant.

Buying the right part

A board is one of the priciest parts in a dishwasher. Have the diagnosis confirmed, check whether the seller takes back installed electrical parts, then buy the OEM board for your model number.
