How to fix Kenmore C6 / C7
Measure your hot water
Run the kitchen hot tap for 1 minute, then fill a glass and check it with a cooking thermometer. Below 120°F (49°C) is too cool for good cleaning.
Raise the water heater setting a little
Turn the water heater up in small steps and recheck after an hour or so. Going too high risks scalding at the taps.
Reset the board (C7)
Unplug the dishwasher or switch off its breaker for 3 minutes, then restore power and see if C7 clears.
When to call a technician
If your hot water is fine and C6 continues, or C7 returns after the reset, the temperature sensor, its wiring or the control board needs a technician.
