How to fix Kenmore F7E1 / F7E2
Turn off the power
For F7E2 in particular, switch off the breaker straight away so the element can't keep heating. Leave it off for 5 minutes before trying again.
Look at the element
Once the tub is cool and the power is off, pull the lower rack and look at the element loop on the tub floor for breaks, blisters or burn marks.
When to call a technician
A damaged element, wiring that needs testing, or an F7E2 that returns after the power-off all need a technician.
