Samsung Dishwasher CE / AC Error Code
Communication error between boards. What it means, which models show it, and how to clear it, easiest fix first.
SamsungAll Samsung dishwasher codes
The control panel and the main control board aren't communicating properly. A loose or damaged connection between them, or a board fault, is usually behind it.
Compatible models
Samsung doesn't publish a model list for this code; it appears on Samsung dishwashers with a digital display. Check your owner's manual.
Also shown as
US and Canada: CE. Australia: AC and CA, both for a communication fault between the main and sub control boards. On UK models, AC is described as the dishwasher powering on but not starting a cycle (often after the door was opened mid-cycle or the unit was moved), and AC6 as an electronic lockout where Start does nothing.
Difficulty
Try the basic checks, but the usual fix is a technician's job.
How to fix Samsung CE / AC
Power cycle the dishwasher
Switch the dishwasher off at its circuit breaker (or unplug it) and wait about 1 minute. Restore power and start a fresh cycle. If the code clears and stays away, it was likely a one-time glitch.
Try a longer power-off
If the code comes straight back, switch off the breaker or unplug the dishwasher for about 10 minutes before trying again.
When to call a technician
If the code persists, request service. Do not open the control panel or check wiring yourself.
