How to fix Kenmore F6E1
Free the overfill float
Look in the front corner of the tub floor for the round float cap. Lift it gently and make sure nothing (a utensil, a lid, broken glass) is wedged under it, then let it drop back.
Open the supply valve
Check the hot water valve under the sink is turned fully open. Someone may have closed it during plumbing work.
Test the supply line
Turn off the breaker and the water. Disconnect the supply line at the dishwasher over a shallow pan, open the valve briefly and watch for a steady flow. No flow means the house supply or valve needs a plumber.
When to call a technician
If water flows freely to the dishwasher but it still won't fill, the inlet valve, its wiring or the control board is at fault. Sears PartsDirect advises replacing a valve with a clogged screen, so leave that to a technician.
