How to fix Kenmore OE
Check the sink and disposal
Run the disposal and make sure the kitchen sink drains well. A slow sink means the clog is in the house drain.
Clean the sump
Power off, pull the lower rack and remove the filter. Rinse it and pick any bones, seeds or glass out of the sump.
Clear the drain hose and air gap
Disconnect the drain hose at the disposal or sink drain with a bowl underneath and flush it with water. Grease builds up inside these hoses over time. Clean the air gap if you have one.
When to call a technician
If water still won't drain after the hose and sump are clear, the drain pump, its impeller or the board's drive to the pump has failed. A technician can test which.
