Midea Air Conditioner PC 00 Error Code
Inverter power module (IPM) protection on Midea air conditioners.
MideaAll Midea air conditioner codes
The IPM is the power module on the outdoor board that drives the inverter compressor. PC 00 means it shut itself down because of an over-current or internal fault. A failing compressor, a bad board, or a poor power supply can all trigger it.
Compatible models
Inverter Midea mini-splits (P0 on older displays). The bulletin covering it doesn't name models.
Also shown as
Old code P0. HVACDirect groups it with PC 02, PC 03 and PC 04 as compressor and inverter faults.
Difficulty
Try the basic checks, but the usual fix is a technician's job.

How to fix Midea PC 00
Power down for 10 minutes
HVACDirect suggests leaving the breaker off for 5 to 10 minutes for the compressor and inverter codes. Use the longer end here, then restart once.
Clean the outdoor coil
While it's off, clear leaves and dirt from the outdoor coil and fan. A choked coil makes the compressor work harder and draw more current.
When to call a technician
If PC 00 shows again, stop restarting the unit. A technician needs to test the IPM board and compressor, and some of those checks involve high voltage.
