How to fix Midea EC 53
Clear around the outdoor unit
Shut off the outdoor disconnect, then pull leaves, snow and debris away from the outdoor unit. HVACDirect suggests this before a power reset for the outdoor sensor codes.
Look for obvious damage
Look over the outdoor unit for chewed wiring or a cover that's been knocked loose. Don't open the unit's service panel.
When to call a technician
The sensor is inside the outdoor unit near live parts, so replacement is a technician job.
