LG Dishwasher CL Error Code
Control lock is on. Here is what it means and how to clear it, easiest fix first.
The control lock (child lock) is active, so the buttons will not respond. It stays on through power-off until you turn it off.
The button pair varies by model: Half Load + Energy Saver on many current models, Rinse + Spray on others, and Dual Zone on some. Check your owner's manual.
How to fix LG CL
Unlock the panel
Press and hold the two buttons marked for control lock (often Half Load and Energy Saver) for at least three seconds until CL disappears.
Try the alternate method
On some models, open the door, press Power, choose a cycle, then hold Rinse and Spray for three seconds and close the door.
When to call a technician
If the panel stays locked after following your manual's unlock steps, contact LG support.

Frequently asked questions
What does CL mean on a LG dishwasher?
The control lock (child lock) is active, so the buttons will not respond. It stays on through power-off until you turn it off.
Can I fix LG CL myself?
Usually, yes. Most CL problems clear with simple checks you can do at home. Start with the first step above: unlock the panel.
What if CL keeps coming back?
A code that returns after a reset and the checks above usually means a part is wearing out. Note when CL appears (which cycle, how often) and have your model number ready; it helps a technician bring the right part on the first visit.
