LG Dishwasher bE Error Code
Too many suds. Here is what it means and how to clear it, easiest fix first.
The dishwasher sensed excess foam and stopped to prevent a leak. It is usually caused by hand dish soap, too much detergent (especially with soft water) or an unlevel unit.
How to fix LG bE
Switch detergent
Use only automatic dishwasher detergent. If you use a liquid, use less of it, or try powder or tablets instead.
Knock down the suds with milk
Set the rinse aid level to L0 and add no detergent. Put a shallow bowl with about 7 oz (200 ml) of milk in the middle of the upper rack and run a Standard cycle with the extra dry and rinse options. Repeat if suds remain, then set the rinse aid back to its usual level.
Check level and reset
Make sure the dishwasher is level side to side and front to back. Then reset the power at the breaker and run a cycle with proper detergent.
When to call a technician
If bE appears when there are no suds in the tub, the sensing system may be faulty and LG service should look at it.

Frequently asked questions
What does bE mean on a LG dishwasher?
The dishwasher sensed excess foam and stopped to prevent a leak. It is usually caused by hand dish soap, too much detergent (especially with soft water) or an unlevel unit.
Can I fix LG bE myself?
Usually, yes. Most bE problems clear with simple checks you can do at home. Start with the first step above: switch detergent.
What if bE keeps coming back?
A code that returns after a reset and the checks above usually means a part is wearing out. Note when bE appears (which cycle, how often) and have your model number ready; it helps a technician bring the right part on the first visit.
