The indoor coil got cold enough to start icing, so the system stopped cooling to let it recover. Poor airflow over the coil, often from dirty filters, is the first thing to rule out. A low refrigerant charge can also do it.

How to fix Gree E2
Let it thaw
Switch the unit to fan only, or off, for an hour so any ice on the coil can melt.
Clean the filters
Pull out the indoor filters, rinse them, and let them dry fully. Check that the louvers aren't stuck closed.
Check the condensate drain
If you can reach where the drain line exits outside, make sure the end isn't crushed or plugged with mud.
When to call a technician
If the coil freezes again with clean filters, a technician should check the refrigerant charge and the indoor fan.
