LG Washer UE Error Code
Load is unbalanced. What it means, which models show it, and how to clear it, easiest fix first.
The laundry has bunched up on one side of the drum, so the washer cannot spin safely at full speed. It often happens with a single bulky item, a very small load, a mix of heavy and light items, or a washer that isn't sitting level.
Compatible models
LG doesn't publish a model list for this code; it appears on LG washers with a digital display. Check your owner's manual.
Also shown as
Shown on front-load, top-load and SideKick pedestal models; some displays read it as uE. Top-load models try to rebalance on their own up to three times before pausing.
Difficulty
Most people can clear this one at home with simple checks.
How to fix LG UE
Redistribute the load
Pause the cycle, open the door or lid, and spread the items evenly around the drum. Untangle sheets and separate heavy pieces like towels from light ones, then press Start/Pause.
Adjust the load size
Add a few similar items if the load is very small, or remove some if it's packed. LG suggests filling the drum about two-thirds of the way for the best balance, and washing bulky bedding one item at a time on the Bedding or Duvet cycle.
Avoid problem items
Rubber-backed bath mats, rugs, waterproof gear and stuffed items tend to throw the drum off balance. Wash pillow covers without the stuffing, and put a mesh laundry bag in with other clothes instead of running it alone.
Level the washer
Rock the washer corner to corner to check for wobble. Turn the leveling legs with a wrench, raising or lowering the low side until every leg rests solidly on the floor, then check with a bubble level across the top, front to back and side to side.
When to call a technician
If balanced, normal-size loads keep triggering the code on a level washer, have a technician check the suspension, shock absorbers or vibration sensor.

Usually, yes. Most UE problems clear with simple checks you can do at home. Start with the first step above: redistribute the load.

A code that returns after a reset and the checks above usually means a part is wearing out. Note when UE appears (which cycle, how often) and have your model number ready; it helps a technician bring the right part on the first visit.
