Frigidaire Dryer E4A Error Code
Dry time ran too long on Frigidaire dryers.
FrigidaireAll Frigidaire dryer codes
The cycle went past the normal maximum drying time. Sears PartsDirect says this usually traces back to the heating system (the element on electric models, the burner parts on gas ones). A clogged lint screen or vent can also stretch dry times because wet air can't get out.

How to fix Frigidaire E4A
Clean the lint screen and vent
Clear the lint screen, then unplug the dryer and check the duct behind it for kinks or a crushed section. Outside, the vent flap should open wide while the dryer runs.
Check the breaker on an electric dryer
A dryer that tumbles but barely warms up may have lost one side of its 240-volt supply. Turn the double breaker fully off and back on.
Dry a normal load
An overstuffed or dripping-wet load takes longer to dry. Try a medium load that's been through a full spin in the washer and see whether the code repeats.
When to call a technician
If airflow is good and the dryer still runs long or cold, the heating element on an electric model, or the burner parts on a gas model, need testing by a technician. Don't work on gas parts, and leave the house and call the gas company if you smell gas.
