How to fix KitchenAid F8E5
Turn off the water supply
Close the shutoff valve feeding the dishwasher, usually under the sink. This is the step that actually stops the problem.
Silence it and leave it running
Press Cancel once to stop the beeping, then close the door. Leave the power on so the dishwasher can pump out what's in the tub.
Cut power if you can't stop the water
If there's no shutoff you can reach, switch off the dishwasher's breaker. Do the same if water is pooling near an outlet or the cord.
When to call a technician
Leave the water off and book service. A stuck inlet valve has to be replaced, and running the dishwasher before then risks a flood.
