Samsung Washer LC Error Code
Water leak or water level problem. What it means, which models show it, and how to clear it, easiest fix first.
SamsungAll Samsung washer codes
The washer has detected moisture outside the tub, or the water level is falling during the wash or rinse when it should hold steady. Typical causes are a leaking hose connection, a drain hose that is siphoning water out, or excess suds. Less often, the water level sensor itself has failed.
Compatible models
Samsung doesn't publish a model list for this code; it appears on Samsung washers with a digital display. Check your owner's manual.
Also shown as
Also shown as LE, LC1, 1C, 1E, 1 1C, or 1 LC. On some models LE or LC points to a leak or dropping water level, while 1E or 1C points specifically to a failed water level sensor, in which case the leak checks below are unlikely to help.
Difficulty
Start with the safe checks below; a worn part may need replacing.
How to fix Samsung LC
Look for leaks
Unplug the washer and turn off the water. Check the floor and the back of the washer for drips, then tighten any loose fill-hose connections and replace hoses that are cracked or bulging.
Check the drain hose
Make sure the drain hose is not kinked and goes only 6 to 8 inches into the standpipe. A hose pushed too far down can siphon water out of the tub. Do not remove the screw holding the hose bracket to the back of the washer.
Clear excess suds
Run one or more empty rinse cycles with no detergent or softener until no suds remain, then see whether the code returns. Use only HE detergent in the recommended amount going forward.
When to call a technician
If you cannot find a leak and the code keeps coming back without suds, the tub, an internal hose, or the water level sensor may be at fault and a technician should take a look.

Can I fix Samsung LC myself?
Often. The first steps above are safe checks a homeowner can do. If they don't clear LC, the cause is likely a worn part that needs replacing.
What if LC keeps coming back?
A code that returns after a reset and the checks above usually means a part is wearing out. Note when LC appears (which cycle, how often) and have your model number ready; it helps a technician bring the right part on the first visit.
