Ice maker function error. What it means, which models show it, and how to clear it, easiest fix first.
SamsungAll Samsung refrigerator codes
The ice maker did not complete its harvest cycle correctly. A bucket that is not seated, a jammed ice tray, a freezer that is too warm, or a water supply problem can all play a part. A failed ice maker assembly is the usual part-level cause.

How to fix Samsung 39E
Check freezer temperature
Samsung ice makers need the freezer at 0°F (-18°C) or colder, even when the ice maker is in the fridge door. If it is set warmer, lower it, turn on Power Freeze and wait about 3 hours.
Reseat the bucket and clear foreign items
Remove the ice bucket, take out any scoops, food or other items, and push it back until it locks. Check that the Ice Off icon is not lit.
Run the ice maker test
Press and hold the Test button on the ice maker until it chimes, which can take up to 10 seconds. If it does not chime, unplug the fridge or switch off its breaker for 2 minutes and try again. The test runs for about 6 minutes on an ice maker in the fridge compartment and about 30 seconds on one in the freezer.
Do not force or melt the ice maker
If the bucket is stuck or the ice maker is iced up, do not pry it out or apply heat such as a hair dryer. Samsung warns that defrosting the ice maker yourself can damage it, so leave it for a technician.
When to call a technician
If the ice maker does not respond to the test, or there is still no ice 3 hours after the freezer is cold enough and the bucket is seated, request service for the ice maker assembly. Full ice production can take up to 24 hours, so a slow start alone is not a fault.
