About Frigidaire refrigerator error codes
Frigidaire is an American appliance brand owned by the Swedish Electrolux Group. Frigidaire codes are usually shown on the display panel, and some models report faults through blinking lights instead.
How to read Frigidaire refrigerator codes
Frigidaire refrigerators show alerts on the control panel, and most of them come with a beep about once a minute. Alerts such as HI, PF, Door Ajar and DI SP are things you can deal with yourself. Codes that start with SY, plus OP and SH, are service codes that usually need a technician.
To clear an alert after fixing the cause, press Alarm Reset, Clear Alerts or Set (the name depends on the model). To restart the control, unplug the refrigerator for about 30 seconds, or flip its breaker if you can't reach the plug.
If you need service in the first 30 days after delivery, Frigidaire says to contact the installer first. After that, go through Frigidaire service with the model number from the label inside the fresh-food compartment.
Of the 9 codes on this page, 6 usually have a simple fix you can do yourself, and 3 usually need a technician. Each guide says which is which, so you don't pay for a service call you don't need, and you don't attempt a repair that isn't safe.

Most refrigerator water filters twist or push out in under a minute, and Whirlpool, Samsung and LG all say to replace them about every six months.
Before you start
- Write down your model number. It's on a sticker, usually inside the door or lid, on the frame, or on the back or side panel. Parts and some code meanings depend on it.
- Try a reset. Unplug the refrigerator or switch off its breaker for 10 minutes. This clears many one-off glitches without tools.
- Check that the doors close fully and the vents inside aren't blocked by food. Give the fridge a few hours after any reset before judging the temperature.
